Thiruketheeswaram temple is an ancient Hindu temple in Mannar, Northern Province Sri Lanka. history. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva and is venerated by Shaivaites throughout the continent. It is said to have been destroyed by the Portuguese in the 16th century.
The Government of India has recently started renovation of the temple. It is estimated to cost Rs. 13 crore and is expected to be completed in two years.
