Haarde is the ex-Prime
Minister of Iceland who was at the helm from 2006 -2009 when the financial
crisis broke out. Recently Haarde went on trial over his role in the 2008 banking
sector collapse when all of Iceland’s banks failed in a matter of weeks,
bringing the country to its knees. Haarde has become the first political leader
to be tried over the global financial crisis.
