W3C Technology

'W3C' refers to ‘World Wide Web Consortium’ – founded in 1994.
It seeks to develop technologies that will enable web access from any device – cell phones, ebook readers, TV systems, digital picture frames, car-navigation system etc. It is working on standards that will enable these devices to communicate with each other. It envisages that mobile phones will become the major portal to the web mainly because of their widespread use.
