National Sports Awards 2012

Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award — is India’s highest honour given for achievement in sports. It contains a medal, ceremonial dress, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 7.5 lakh : Vijay Kumar (shooting), Yogeshwar Dutt (wrestling).

The Arjuna award carries a statuette, a certificate, ceremonial dress and a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh. Arjuna Award is given for consistently outstanding performance for three consecutive years preceding the year of award. 
Deepika Kumari, Laishram Bombayla Devi (all archery), 
Sudha Singh, Kavita Raut (athletics), 
Ashwini Ponnappa, Parupalli Kashyap (badminton), 
Aditya Mehta (billiards and snooker), 
Vikas Krishan (boxing): had a win overturned by the judges. This was contested by India at CAS to no avail.

Anup Kumar (kabaddi),

Annu Raj Singh, Omkar Singh and Joydeep Karmakar (all shooting): Karmakar finished fourth in an event @ Olympics.
Deepika Pallikal (squash): first Indian woman to reach top-20 rank in squash.

Dronacharya award : Dronacharya Award is given to coaches for producing medal winners at prestigious international sports events. Awardee gets a statuette, a certificate, ceremonial dress and a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh.

Sunil Dabas (kabaddi-women), 
Yashvir Singh (wrestling): Coach of Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt
Harendra Singh (hockey), 
B.I. Fernandez (boxing): Cuban, coach for 22 years, first non-Indian to receive Dronacharya Award.
Dr. Satyapal Singh (Parasports-athletics); 
Life-time Achievement : J.S. Bhatia (athletics), 
Bhawani Mukherjee (table tennis).

Dhyan Chand award : India's highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games, given by the Government of India.The award was initiated in 2002. The award carries a cash prize of INR 5 lakh, a statuette,ceremonial dress and a scroll of honour.

Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar : Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar, introduced from 2009 with a view to recognizing the contribution made to sports development by entities other than sportspersons and coaches, is given in four categories, namely, Community Sports Identification and Nurturing of Building Young Talent, Financial Support for Sports Excellence, Establishment and Management of Sports Academies of Excellence and Employment of Sportspersons and Sports Welfare Measures. 
Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL),  Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB), Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) and Air India Sports Promotion Board (AISPB).
